Rochester Americans News Release

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans, in conjunction with State Farm Insurance, announced today the details of the "Amerks Nation" Flag Design Contest. The new promotional campaign will test the creative drive of the Amerks' loyal fan base and invite the fans to demonstrate their artistic prowess in support of their hometown team for the 2011-12 American Hockey League season.

In an effort to keep Amerks hockey at the forefront during the offseason and provide added value to the fans, the Amerks are asking the fans of Rochester to design and submit a flag that best symbolizes the "Amerks Nation" and the Rochester Americans Hockey Club. The winning flag design will be selected based on its full representation of the organization and will portray the "Amerks Nation" in 2011-12. The design will ultimately be produced into an actual flag to be used over the course of the season during games and various other events. Fans will have from Tuesday, May 3rd to Sunday, July 31st to submit their flag designs.

The "Amerks Nation" Flag Design Contest will be offered exclusively through the Amerks and is open to all legal residents of the United States to enter. Participants must have an active e-mail account in order to register and there is no purchase necessary to enter or win the contest.

The winning flag design will be selected by the Amerks organization later this summer with the winner receiving a pair of season tickets for the 2011-12 season, an autographed Amerks jersey and a replica of the "Amerks Nation" Official Flag. The winner will be chosen on how well it represents the Rochester Americans, the "Amerks Nation" theme and the Rochester Community. Fans are required to incorporate the Amerks' trademark logo into their respective designs. The winner of the Flag Design Contest will be notified by e-mail or phone within seven days after being selected as the winner in August 2011.
