
Moose Sign Darren Archibald to ATO

The Manitoba Moose announced today they have signed forward Darren Archibald to an amateur tryout contract.
Archibald, 21, recently finished his final junior season with the Ontario Hockey League's Niagara IceDogs. Niagara was eliminated from the OHL playoffs on Apr. 26/11 when the IceDogs lost to the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors in the Eastern Conference Finals in five games. The Newmarket, ON native led his team with 10 goals in 14 games during the 2011 OHL Playoffs. During the playoffs, Archibald was named the OHL Player of the Week for the week ending April 17 when he scored six points (4g, 2a) in three games.
In three OHL seasons with the Barrie Colts and Niagara IceDogs, Archibald scored 174 points (92g, 82a) in 186 games played and also recorded 148 penalty minutes.
