
Amerks Sign Patrick Rissmiller to AHL Contract

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has signed veteran forward Patrick Rissmiller to an American Hockey League contract.
Rissmiller, 34, has recorded 11 points (2+9) and six penalty minutes in 16 games with the Amerks this season since signing a professional tryout contract on Feb. 2. Prior to joining the Amerks, he collected two assists in six AHL games for the Worcester Sharks. Last season, Rissmiller played in 49 games with the Lake Erie Monsters and registered 29 points (13+16) and 34 penalty minutes. In 2010-11, Rissmiller scored 41 points (14+27) in 57 combined AHL games with Lake Erie, Rochester and Chicago, including 10 points (2+8) in just eight games for the Amerks. He also played in 10 NHL games that season with Atlanta and Florida.
A native of Belmont, Mass., Rissmiller has appeared in 192 career NHL games with San Jose, the New York Rangers, Atlanta and Florida, collecting 46 points (18+28) and 60 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound forward has also played in 545 career AHL games with Cleveland, Hartford, Grand Rapids, Chicago, Lake Erie, Rochester and Worcester, recording 365 points on 127 goals and 238 assists.
The Amerks host the Syracuse Crunch at 7:05 p.m. tonight at The Blue Cross Arena. The game will be televised on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel and will also be broadcast on Sports 1280 WHTK.
