Amerks Assign Boychuk and Szydlowski to Texas Brahmas

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has assigned forwards Riley Boychuk and Shawn Szydlowski to the Texas Brahmas of the Central Hockey League.

Boychuk, 21, appeared in 26 games with the Amerks last season, recording two assists and 18 penalty minutes. He also played in 20 games for the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL, where he registered five points (1+4) and 33 penalty minutes. Boychuk was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the seventh round (208th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Szydlowski, 22, played in 53 games last season with the Amerks, collecting eight assists and 21 penalty minutes. He also appeared in six games with Gwinnett, where he tallied one goal and two assists. Szydlowski signed with the Sabres organization as a free agent on April 8, 2011.
