Americans' Riley Gill Named Goaltender of the Month

Allen, Texas - The ECHL announced today that Allen Americans netminder Riley Gill has been selected as the Warrior Hockey Goalie of the Month for December.
Riley Gill is having one of his best seasons as a pro, leading the ECHL with five shutouts. Three of the five shutouts came in the month of December, leading the Americans to a 7-2-0 record in his starts.
"Our team is playing really well right now," said Gill. "The offense is clicking and the guys in front of me are playing great defense."
The native of Northfield, MN, is in his third season between the pipes for the Americans, having led Allen to back to back Kelly Cup Championships in 2015 and 2016. Gill, who celebrated a birthday on January 1st, leads the ECHL with 2.21 goals-against average and a .938 save percentage.
The Americans are tied for the Mountain Division lead with Colorado. Both teams have 42 points. Allen went 10-2-0 during the month of December, with four of those ten wins being shutouts.
