Allen Americans News Release
ALLEN, Texas - The Allen Americans, the Dallas Stars' CHL affiliate, released their roster and schedule for training camp that begins Oct. 5.
The Americans' roster boasts a CHL record number 11 players that attended higher-level camps with teams in the National Hockey League and American Hockey League. This unheard of number is well above the usual five or six players that CHL teams send up.
Goalie Chris Whitley spent time with the Detroit Red Wings (NHL) and forward Justin Bowers went to the Phoenix Coyotes' training camp (NHL). Bowers, with forwards Christian Gaudet, Bruce Graham, Liam Huculak and Jarett Lukin, attended the Texas Stars' camp (AHL). Defensemen Tyler Wooddisse and goaltender Charlie Effinger were in Austin as well. Forward Bill Loupée played with the Worcester Sharks (AHL); Nathan O'Nabigon skated in New York with the Rochester Americans (AHL) and Nino Musitelli attended the Binghamton Senators (AHL) camp.
