Americans Release 2012-13 Pre-Season Schedule

KENNEWICK, WA - Tri-City Americans Governor/General Manager Bob Tory, along with the Western Hockey League, unveiled today the team's 2012-13 pre-season schedule. For Tri-City, the 2012 exhibition season is, once again, highlighted by two separate tournament appearances, as well as two additional pre-season contests for a total of seven exhibition games leading into the franchise's 25th season in the Mid-Columbia.

The Americans will start the pre-season portion of their schedule by participating in the 9th annual Everett Silvertips Pre-Season Tournament, scheduled from Aug. 31 to Sept. 2 at Comcast Arena. It will be the franchise's sixth consecutive trip to the Silvertips' tournament. While there, Tri-City will match-up against their U.S. Division rivals, the Portland Winterhawks, as well as the tournament hosts, Everett Silvertips.

Tri-City then returns home to host the 2012 Red Lion Hotels Pre-Season Tournament, scheduled for Sept. 6-8 at the Toyota Center in Kennewick. The Tournament will again feature a Thursday evening game as well a three-game per day schedule on Friday and Saturday. This year's tournament will feature the host Americans, their four U.S. Division rivals (Everett, Portland, Seattle and Spokane) as well as the Central Division's Kootenay Ice.

The Americans will then wrap-up their portion of the pre-season schedule with two exhibition games, one each against the Spokane Chiefs and Kelowna Rockets. On Friday, Sept. 14, the Americans will play host to the Chiefs at the Toyota Center. Friday's exhibition game time is 7:05 p.m. Pricing for the exhibition game against Spokane is value priced at a general admission rate of only $8. Then, the following day, Tri-City will head up to Kelowna for a final pre-season match-up with the Rockets at Prospera Place.
