Americans Look to Even the Series Tonight in Ontario

Ontario, California - The Allen Americans and Ontario Reign resume the ECHL Western Conference Finals tonight after an off day in the series. Puck drop from Citizens Bank Arena is at 6:00 pm locally, and 8:00 pm Texas time.
The Ontario Reign took a 2-1 series lead after a 4-1 win on Thursday night in a game that was much closer than the final score indicates. The Americans trailed 2-1 late in the third before back to back goals from Maxim Kitsyn and Gary Nunn (empty net goal), sealed the Reign victory. Allen outshot the Ontario 22-17 for the game.
This is the first time all season the Americans have trailed in a playoff series, and the first time Allen has lost back to back playoff games. The Americans one goal output, in two games is the lowest two-game total all season.
"We just have to get back to Americans Hockey," said forward Ian Schultz. "When we're playing our game, it's tough for anyone to beat us. We have to get back to that tonight and get off to a good start."
Justin Baker had the lone Americans goal on Thursday night and was Allen's best defenseman on the ice. Baker made a sliding save in the second period as he blocked a shot that was headed for the back of the net.
