Americans Look for Sweep of the Chill this Afternoon

Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans host the St.Charles Chill this afternoon at 4:05 pm at Allen Event Center as the Americans look to tie Rapid City for the top spot in the CHL.
Allen jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead on Friday night, never looking back in a 5-2 victory over St Charles, in their first ever visit to Allen Event Center. Alex Lavoie, picked up his team leading 20th goal of the season while the red hot Spencer Asuchak, scored twice including on a penalty shot goal which was awarded to Asuchak in the second period.
"Asuchak played great, said Allen Americans Head Coach and GM Steve Martinson. "He had a chance for a hat trick. Spencer gives you everything he has."
With a victory today the Americans can tie Rapid City for the points lead in the Central Hockey League with 54, and move to four points ahead of the Missouri Mavericks, in the CHL standings who are the team right behind Allen in third place.
Johnathan Zion, has officially been signed by the Americans and is expected to be in the lineup next weekend against the Wichita Thunder. Zion played for Allen in the 2010-2011 season scoring six goals, and 14 points, in 22 games. He was on Steve Martinson's, roster in Chicago (ECHL) two seasons ago where he had 25 points, in 40 games.
The Americans will have two bounce houses set up in front of the arena this afternoon courtesy of Clown Around Party Rentals, beginning at 2:00 pm for the kids as the weather is scheduled to be warm and sunny.
