Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans beat the Fort Worth Brahmas for the second night in a row, this time by a score of 4-1 at the Allen Event Center.

Darryl Bootland scored three goals for Allen, picking up his first hat trick of the season and the 4th by the Americans player this year, scoring a natural hat trick, all three on the power play.

Trevor Ludwig netted his 5th goal of the season with a three point night, assisting on two of Darryl Bootland's three goals.

Tyler Ludwig had another huge night for the Americans chipping in four helpers in the victory. He is third overall in points by defensemen this season with 26. Three behind the leader Kevin Young of Wichita.

"It was a solid win for us," said Allen Americans Head Coach Steve Martinson. "The four power play goals for us is a season high. We just need to get the other two lines going. The Maiani line continues to be red hot for us."

The Americans continue the homestand on New Year's Eve against the Quad City Mallards at 7:05 pm. Quad City did the Americans a favor tonight by knocking off top-seeded Wichita 3-1. With the Allen win and Wichita loss, Allen jumps into first place overall in the CHL standings.

Americans Notes from the Game: Kip Brennan passed Liam Huculak to become the all-time penalty minutes leader for the Allen Americans. He now has 222 in 50 games for Allen.
