WICHITA, KS - Mike Stinziani scored what proved to be the winning goal and added an assist and Neil Conway made 29 saves as the Quad City Mallards defeated the Wichita Thunder 3-1 Saturday night.

Stinziani buried a rebound to put the Mallards on top for good at 16:02 of the second period after Wichita's David Inman had tied the score at one at 5:56 of the second with a wrist shot from the top of the left wing circle.

Conway made 17 saves in the second period alone to keep the Thunder from doing further damage in the middle frame. The Mallards nursed the 2-1 lead deep into the third period before Stinziani set up Matt Boyd for the clinching empty net goal in the final minute of the game.

The Mallards had first moved in front when Patrik Levesque buried Jason Dixon's centering pass from the doorstep at 7:27 of the first period.
