Americans Fall to Silvertips in First Game of Playoff Series

The Americans kicked off their round one playoff series against the Everett Silvertips tonight at Angel of the Winds Arena. Tri-City struggled to find offense and ultimately fell 6-1.

Through the eight-game regular season series between the two teams Americans goaltender Beck Warm faced an average of 40 shots per game. Warm once again started in net for Tri-City tonight. The 19-year-old netminder stopped 42 of 47 shots faced.

Everett took the first lead of the night when Connor Dewar netted a rebound goal on their 17th shot of the night, assisted by Martin Fasko-Rudas at 17:44. Silvertips out shot the Americans 17-3 through the first twenty minutes.

The score held at 1-0 until Dewar added his second of the night at 6:54 third period. Max Patterson added another extending Everett's lead to three at 12:34. Americans captain Nolan Yaremko responded four seconds later putting Tri-City on the board.

Everett added three more goals late in the third period including an empty net and power play goal.

Final Score: 6-1 EVT

Shots: 48-22

The Americans will return tomorrow for Game 2 against the Silvertips. Game 3 + 4 will be in Tri-City next week.
