Americans Even ECHL Kelly Cup Finals at 1-1

Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans evened the best of seven series at 1-1, after a 5-2 win over the South Carolina Stingrays, on Tuesday night, in front of a crowd of 3, 804 at Allen Event Center.

Gary Steffes had two goals to lead the way for the Americans, his 11th and 12th of the postseason. Spencer Asuchak had a goal, his 11th, and an assist, while Dyson Stevenson chipped in with his 2nd and another solid effort defensively.

"There are a lot of things I liked about tonight's game, said Allen Americans Head Coach Steve Martinson in a postgame interview on Hot 107.3 FM. "Riley was really good in net for us tonight as we need him to be."

The Americans were 2 for 3 on the power play while South Carolina went 0 for 2. The Stingrays are now 0 for 4 in two games.

"We got off to a good start tonight," said Americans forward Gary Steffes who scored his team leading 11th and 12th goals of the postseason. "We knew we had to come out strong and needed a solid effort from everyone and we got it."
