Americans Can't Stop the Reign

Ontario, California- The Allen Americans gave up two goals late in the third period, including an empty net goal with 4 seconds left in regulation, as the Ontario Reign beat the Americans 4-1 on Tuesday night in Southern California.

Aaron Gens had the lone goal of the night, a power play goal, his 7th of the season from Justin Baker and Greger Hanson at 6:47 of the second period. Allen outshot Ontario for the game 39-30.

Chad Costello's point streak came to an end at 17 games. He remains tied with Nino Musitelli for the all-time club lead.

Riley Gill got the start in net stopping 27 of 30 shots and was denied his 24th victory of the season. Gill leads the ECHL with 23 victories.

The Americans and Reign play game two of the two-game-set tomorrow night at 9:00 pm CST. The boys is RED are back on the AEC ice this Saturday, February 14 for our inaugural Pucks N Paws game.
