Allen Americans News Release

Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans announced the signing of two players today, Goaltender Brad Fogal and young Forward, Jonathon Lessard to contracts for the upcoming season.

Brad Fogal spent parts of the last two seasons with the Fort Worth/Texas Brahmas, including a playoff series win against Allen in the 2012 post-season. He was 15-12 last year, with a .902 save percentage and a 2.72 goals against average.

The native of Sharon, Ontario, played his collegiate hockey at Adrian College in the MCHA from 2007-2011. He had seasons of 20, 25, 23 and 25 wins during his four years at Adrian.

Prior to his time with the Brahmas, he played with both the Kalamazoo Wings and the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL in 2011-2012, and in ten games with the Quad City Mallards in 2011, where he had a 6-2 record.

"Goaltending was one of the Brahmas strong suits last season," said Allen Americans Head Coach and GM Steve Martinson. "Brad Fogal was really good against us."

Jonathon Lessard played 31 games at the professional level, having spent last season in both San Francisco and Utah in the ECHL. The native of St-Eustache, PQ, scored 115 goals over his four years in the QMJHL.

"Jonathon Lessard has great speed and finishes his checks hard. He scored a lot of goals in juniors and we expect that same thing here. He can really skate," said Steve Martinson.

Both players will be a part of Allen Americans training camp when it opens in Allen on Monday, October 7th at 10:00 am.
