American Idol Alum Grace Leer to Perform National Anthem Before Wednesday's Match

Country singer and American Idol top 10 finalist Grace Leer will perform the national anthem before Nashville SC's match against Toronto FC pres. by T-Mobile on Wednesday, June 23 at 7:30 p.m. CT.

Leer saw her industry breakthrough during her 2020 debut on American Idol. After her rendition of Aretha Franklin's Natural Women, judge Katy Perry had high praise for the performance, stating, "she literally came out here and made everyone else look like they were on a talent show." Leer moved to Nashville after graduating from UC Berkeley where she was captain of the women's soccer team.

Her musical sound is inspired by the 1990s, echoing powerhouse women of country such as Shania Twain and The Chicks. The Grace Leer Band has released three songs and is praised for their captivating and authentic performances.
