Down 6-4, Sioux City scored nine runs over their last four innings at bat to upend St. Joe 13-7 in a game that saw 29 hits (10 of them for extra bases), seven errors and three hit batsmen. Three players had three hits for the X's, including LF Jorge Moreno, who was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two doubles, and 3B Ryan Gripp, who was 3-for-5 with two RBI and two doubles. Meanwhile, four Blacksnakes players had three hits; LF Terrell Merriman was 3-for-5 with two RBI and a triple.

St. Paul 7, Lincoln 6

After 2B Josh Patton's two-run double in the top of the ninth put Lincoln ahead 6-5, St. Paul came back with two runs in the bottom half of the frame, on an RBI double from 3B Patrick Scalabrini and a two-out RBI single by SS Brian Sprout, to win 7-6. The Saints trailed 3-1 until the seventh, when they scored on Scalabrini's RBI single and a three-run dinger by DH Nick Gretz. Scalabrini finished the day 3-for-5 with two runs scored, while Patton went 3-for-4 for the Saltdogs.

Fort Worth 7, Shreveport 1

Fort Worth starter Cory Walters was superb, giving up one run on five hits and striking out four in seven innings of his work, as Fort Worth breezed past Shreveport 7-1. The victory, Walters' seventh, moves him into a tie for the league lead. Six of the Cats' seven runs came in the final four innings; a three-run eighth saw a two-run home run from CF Palmer Karr and a 2B Shawn Williams RBI single. SS Enohel Polanco went 2-for-4 for the Sports and scored Shreveport's only run.

Coastal Bend used some early offense to down Sioux Falls 6-3 in the first game of the doubleheader. The Aviators got two runs in the first inning on two RBI groundouts, and added four more in the third on 3B Andy Wilson's three-run blast and via an unearned run. The Yellow Birds' runs came on DH Chris Weber's RBI single in the second, an unearned run in the third and 1B Abner Arroyo's solo blast in the fifth.

El Paso 3, Pensacola 2

El Paso got a solid outing from Robbie Wachman in his first start of the season and held off a late Pensacola rally to defeat the Pelicans, 3-2. RF Carlos Sepulveda went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Diablos, while Pensacola's eight hits were divided among eight players. Wachman shut out the Pelicans and gave up only two hits in five innings of work for his second victory of the season.
