Pensacola 11, Ft. Worth 10
Trailing 10-2 entering the bottom of the seventh inning, Pensacola staged a furious rally to walk off with an 11-10 win over Ft. Worth. The Pelicans got two runs in the seventh, closing the gap to 10-4, before scoring five times in the eighth on four hits, two wild pitches, a hit batsman, and a base on balls. With the game suddenly in doubt, Ft. Worth summoned closer Dustin Cameron to record the final out of the eighth. But in the ninth the Pelicans solved Cameron, collecting three hits and a walk to tie the game 10-10. With pinch runner Bryan Rembisz at third base, pinch hitter Lou Palmisano singled to left, scoring the game winner. The miracle rally spoiled a chance for Ft. Worth starter Dwayne Pollok to claim his tenth victory of the season. Pollok was sharp for seven innings, allowing three earned runs on seven hits while striking out seven.
Sioux City 15, Wichita 3
With the game tied 1-1 after three innings, Sioux City collected seven singles in the top of the fourth to score six times. With the flood gates open, they went on to rout Wichita by a 15-3 final. Explorers 1B Steve Pearson belted his fifth homer and drove in five runs in the contest. Rightfielder T.J. Bohn, DH Jacob Cruz, and C Ray Serrano each had three hits and two runs scored for Sioux City. Explorers starter David Welch went six innings and allowed three runs as he upped his mark to 8-5 with the victory. Wichita SS Josh Horn hit his third homer in a losing effort.
St. Paul 9, Sioux Falls 0
After scoring a total of just three runs in their two previous games, St. Paul got their offense going in a big way as they shutout Sioux Falls 9-0. With one out in the top of the first inning 2B Brandon Carter tripled and DH Ole Sheldon homered for a quick 2-0 lead. The Saints added another run in the inning and held a 6-0 advantage after three frames. Meanwhile, St. Paul starter Jason Godin was pitching far better than his won-loss record might indicate. Godin cruised through the Pheasants batting order for eight innings, allowing just one hit to go with five walks and six strikeouts. He got the win to improve to 7-6. With the victory, the Saints pulled within two games of Sioux Falls in the North Division standings.
Grand Prairie 5, El Paso 4
Grand Prairie starter Luke Prihoda fanned seven batters in seven innings of work to lead the AirHogs to a 5-4 win over El Paso. Prihoda allowed six hits and two earned runs en route to evening his record at 6-6 with the win. After Diablos DH Kyle Nichols hit a two-run homer in the top of the eighth inning to pull El Paso within a run, Grand Prairie reliever Mitch Arnold worked a 1-2-3 ninth to preserve the victory. AirHogs 1B Ernie Banks had the game's biggest hit with a three-run double in the bottom of the sixth. Grand Prairie C Daniel Berg turned in a solid performance as he finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored.
