Sioux Falls 7, Shreveport-Bossier 0

Sioux Falls starter Ben Moore and two relievers collaborated on a six-hit shutout in Sioux Falls' 7-0 win over Shreveport-Bossier. Moore moved into a tie for the league lead with his 10th win by surrendering just five hits and no walks over seven innings. When he departed, the Pheasants clung to a slender 1-0 lead thanks to a fourth inning sacrifice fly by CF Reggie Abercrombie. But the offense came to life late, scoring five times in the eighth on RBI hits by Abercrombie, LF Beau Torbert, and 1B Brandon Sing. In relief of Moore, Brandon Rapoza and Ryan Grant allowed just one hit over the final two innings to maintain the shutout.

Pensacola 5, Fort Worth 4

The Pensacola offense finally broke through with five late unanswered runs to clip Fort Worth 5-4. The Pelicans had been shut out threw five by Fort Worth starter Dwayne Pollok, but scored twice in the sixth and took the lead for good in the eighth with a three-run frame. Driving the late offense were boppers 1B Javier Brito and C Lou Palmisano, who combined to knock in all five runs. With the offensive awakening, Pensacola starter Jared Gothreaux stumbled into his eighth win of the season. He surrendered four runs in the opening two frames, but settled down to last seven innings, not allowing any more runs to cross the plate. Pelicans closer Seth Overbey shut the door with a perfect ninth to pick up his seventh save.

Lincoln 9, Wichita 4

Lincoln starter Jim Paduch allowed just one run in six innings, and the offense plated five runs in the sixth to carry the Saltdogs to a 9-4 win over Wichita. Paduch scattered six hits and struck out three to earn his seventh win. Offensively, with the game deadlocked at 1-1 in the sixth, Lincoln 1B Juan Camacho registered a two-run double, and RF Roberto Alvarez followed with a three-run homer. The five-run outburst chased Wichita starter Gabe Medina from the game despite allowing just four hits in 5+ innings of work. In the eighth, Wichita decreased the deficit to two runs on a two-run single by 2B Cesar Suarez and an RBI single by SS Josh Horn, but Lincoln immediately padded the lead on a three-run homer by C Pat Trettel in the bottom half.
