A terrific pitching performance by Pensacola starter Jason Navarro leads the Pelicans to victory over the Sioux City Explorers. Navarro went seven innings allowing one earned run on five hits while striking out six Sioux City batters. With the victory, he is now 1-0 on the year. DH Chase Burch led the Pensacola offense going 2-for-5 and driving in three of the team's four runs. CF Dustin Jones and C Greg Stevens each collected two hits on the night for the Explorers in defeat.

Lincoln 5, St. Paul 3

The Lincoln Saltdogs rallied from a 3-1 deficit with four runs in the eighth inning and went on from there to a 5-3 win over the St. Paul Saints. CF Josh Burrus led the Lincoln offensive attack going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a RBI. Saltdogs starter Jarrett Gardner pitched a solid game en route to his eighth win of the season. Gardner went eight innings giving up three earned runs on eight hits with four strikeouts. Lincoln closer Chris Thompson notched his 20th save of the season.

Sioux Falls 4, Wichita 2 (10 innings)

HR: SF-Trevor Lawhorn (4); W-Steve Pearson (3), Greg Porter (11)

3B Trevor Lawhorn's two-run home run in the 10th inning leads the Sioux Falls Canaries to victory over the Wichita Wingnuts. Lawhorn, RF Cory Harris and 1B Patrick Reilly each had two hits in the game for the Canaries. Andrew Pluta won his second game in relief for Sioux Falls throwing a scoreless ninth inning. Canaries reliever Aaron Cotter picked up his third save with a 1-2-3 10th inning. Wichita LF Greg Porter hit his 11th home run of the season in a 2-for-4 outing.

Shreveport-Bossier 12, Fort Worth 4

@ Shreveport, LA. Time: 2:42 Attendance: 2,613

The Shreveport-Bossier Captains rolled out to a 4-0 advantage after one inning and would cruise to an easy win against Fort Worth at home. 3B/1B Andres Rodriguez led the Captains offensively going 3-for-5 with a run scored and four RBI. LF Jose Torres chipped in with a 1-for-3 night with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI. Shreveport-Bossier starter Logan Williamson won his eighth game of the season going 7 2/3 innings allowing one earned run on six hits with four punchouts.
