Sioux City got a solid outing from starting pitcher Trevor Fox and rolled to a 6-1 win against Wichita on the road. Fox allowed one run on four hits in 5 1/3 innings to earn the win and improve to 4-1 on the season. Leading the way at the plate for the Explorers was DH Tyler Meigs, who was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and three RBI. Sioux City also got a great performance from its bullpen. Explorers relievers David Trahan and Steve Andrade combined to strike out six in 3 2/3 scoreless innings to seal the win.

Sioux Falls 11, Pensacola 5

Sioux Falls scored two runs in the top of the first inning to take a 2-0 lead and never looked back en route to an 11-5 win on the road. The Canaries pounded out 18 hits in the contest, led by CF Jared Lemieux who was 4-for-4 with a home run, two walks, three runs scored and three RBI out of the leadoff spot. Sioux Falls starting pitcher Ryan Ford picked up his second win of the year. He allowed four runs, two earned, on eight hits in 6 2/3 innings. Pensacola CF Francisco Leandro led the way at the plate in the losing effort. He was 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and a RBI.

Shreveport-Bossier 4, Fort Worth 2

Shreveport-Bossier starting pitcher Jimmy Heard allowed three hits in six shutout innings to lead the Captains to a 4-2 win at home against Fort Worth. With the victory, Heard runs his record to 2-0 on the season. Shreveport-Bossier 3B Christopher Garcia led the way at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a run scored and a RBI. Captains reliever Justin Dowdy allowed a run on two hits in the ninth inning, but held on to earn his fourth save of the season.

St. Paul 15, Lincoln 3

The St. Paul Saints slugged their way to a 15-3 win against Lincoln at home behind the bats of 1B Jason Cooper and 3B Jeff Eure. Together the duo went 6-for-8 with five runs scored, five RBI and a home run apiece. Also turning in a good game at the plate was RF Brent Krause, who was 2-for-4 with four runs scored and four RBI. Saints starting pitcher Reed Dickert was the beneficiary of the run support. He allowed three runs on six hits and struck out six in seven innings of work to earn the win and improve to 2-2 on the year.

El Paso 6, Grand Prairie 0

@ El Paso, TX. Time: 2:05 Attendance: 8,248 W: Josh Neitz (2-1) L: Jose Cordero (3-1) S: None HR: None

El Paso starting pitcher Josh Neitz struck out three on his way to a four-hit shutout of Grand Prairie. With the win, Neitz improves his record to 2-1 on the season. Diablos 3B Mike Provencher led the way at the plate, going 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI. El Paso CF Kennard Bibbs also had a good game, going 2-for-3 with three runs scored and a stolen base. El Paso led 2-0 entering the bottom of the eighth inning and rallied for four runs to go up 6-0 and put the game out of reach.
