Grand Prairie 12, Shreveport 6

The Grand Prairie AirHogs rolled past Shreveport on the road to notch their eighth victory of the year. Grand Prairie touched up Sports pitching for 18 hits, led by CF Drew Holder who was 4-for-5 with a solo home run and three runs scored. AirHogs 3B Edwin Maldonado also had a big game. He was 3-for-5 with a home run and five RBI. Grand Prairie C JB Tucker was 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored and three RBI. AirHogs reliever Justin Garcia picked up his second win and James Morrison made it through the ninth to get his second save.

Sioux Falls 8, Sioux City 5

The Sioux Falls Canaries got a solid outing from starting pitcher Ryan Ford, and plenty of offense in support of him, to win at home and improve to 9-7 this season. Ryan allowed four runs, one earned, on eight hits and struck out three in 6 2/3 innings to get his first win of the year. The Canaries backed him with eight runs on 14 hits, led by 1B Patrick Reilly, who was 3-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI. 3B Grant Richardson also homered and finished the game 1-for-3 with four RBI.

Pensacola 6, El Paso 5

The Pensacola Pelicans trailed 5-3 in the ninth inning until DH Billy Cox uncorked a two-run home run to tie the ballgame and 2B Ricardo Cordova eventually won it with an RBI single. Cox finished the game 2-for-3 while went 3-for-6 with a run scored and. El Paso 1B Bryon Smith also homered in the losing effort. Pensacola closer Dustin Cameron notched his first win of the season after pitching a perfect ninth.

St. Paul 9, Fort Worth 3

@ St. Paul, MN. Time: 2:45 Attendance: 7,036 W: Charlie Ruud (4-0) L: Wayne Hedden (1-1) S: None HR: None

The St. Paul Saints got a great outing from starting pitcher Charlie Ruud to win easily, improving their record to 11-6 on the season. Ruud allowed two runs on four hits did not issue a walk in six strong innings. With the win, Ruud remains perfect on the year at 4-0. Saints SS Brian Sprout led the way at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI. CF Scooter Jordan also had a good day at the dish, going 1-for-2 with a run scored and three RBI.

Wichita 5, Lincoln 3

@ Lincoln, NE. Time: 2:26 Attendance: 3,709

W: Blake Gailen (1-0) L: Ryan Dittfurth (1-1) S: Byron Embry (6)

HR: WW-Heath Keel (3); LS-Luis Perez (2)

The Wichita Wingnuts rallied late, scoring once in the eighth, then again in the ninth on a home run by RF Heath Keel to notch a 5-3 win. Keel finished the game 1-for-4. Wingnuts reliever Blake Gailen tallied his first victory by allowing one run on five hits through 4 1/3 innings of work. Wichita closer Byron Embry came on to close things out in the ninth and did so, picking up his league-leading sixth save in the process. Lincoln LF Luis Perez also homered and finished the game 2-for-3 to lead the Saltdogs in the losing effort.
