Grand Prairie got off to a flying start against Wichita scoring seven early runs to cruise to a 7-2 victory. The Airhogs hits came in bunches as six of their eight hits for the game came in a two inning span. Four singles and a hit batter produced the four run second inning and they used two more hits, two walks, and another hit batter to tack on three more in the third. Kieran Mattison tossed six solid innings allowing two runs on five hits while striking out four. Demetri White lasted just 2 1/3 innings and took the loss.

Sioux City 4, Ft. Worth 3

Sioux City staged a three run rally with two out in the bottom of the eighth inning to clip Ft. Worth 4-3. With the Cats leading 3-1, the Explorers loaded the bases on singles by 1B Juan Camacho and LF Chad Gabriel and a walk to DH Alex Llanos. RF Luke Hetherington doubled down the left field line to clear the bases giving Sioux City a 4-3 lead. Brett Reid came on to work the ninth and after surrendering a lead off walk struck out the next three men to end it. Paige Dumont worked 2 1/3 innings of relief and struck out three to get the win and even his record to 1-1 on the season. Camacho finished 3-for-4 win two runs scored.

Lincoln 13, Pensacola 5

DH Felix Jose hit his first long ball of the year to drive in three as Lincoln rebounded from an early 2-0 deficit with a four run first inning to rout Pensacola 13-5. The Saltdogs recorded 16 hits off Pelican pitching and registered their second big inning of the night with a five run outburst in the fourth. Three Pensacola errors mixed with Lincoln's four hits in the inning kept the scoreboard lit up for the home team. Zach Cline went six innings for the victory. Joe Orgovan surrendered 10 runs, eight earned, in defeat. Jose finished the game 3-for-5 with 3RBI and CF Jonny Kaplan went 4-for-5 with three runs scored and an RBI. All nine Lincoln starters had at least one hit.

St. Paul 7, Sioux Falls 3

Despite three homeruns by the Canaries, and being out hit 15 to 9, St. Paul used a four run eighth inning to capture a 7-3 road victory. Leading 3-2, the Saints used a walk, a single, and an intentional pass loading the bases for LF Brett Krause who singled up the middle to drive in two. 2B Julius Thames' double to left drove in two more later in the inning before the Saints bullpen got the final six outs. Starter Brian Whinnery scattered 11 hits but allowed just two runs and reliever Mike Bille picked up the win allowing just one hit in two innings of work.

1B Bryon Smith singled in the go ahead run in the top of the 12th, completing a comeback win for the Diablos. Trailing 5-0 after one inning and 6-1 after six, El Paso got two in the seventh and four in the eighth before capping the win with the lone run of the extra innings. Three Shreveport batters had three hits on the night but it wasn't enough. Smith finished 2-for-5 with two RBI. LF J.D. Reininger was 3-for-6 and SS Evan Conley had a hit in four trips to the plate to go with two RBI.
