The Blacksnakes used a big opening frame to jump on the Saltdogs and never looked back. St. Joe scored four runs on five singles, capped off by a run-scoring base knock by SS Chad Sosebee. Sosebee went 2-for-4 on the night with two RBI. Leading 5-2 in the bottom of the eighth inning, the Blacksnakes added three runs to their lead on two hits, taking advantage of two walks by Lincoln reliever Joe Brown. St. Joe 3B Carter McGuigg had a game-high three hits in four at bats with a double and a run scored. For the Saltdogs, 1B Brett Cooley went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Blacksnakes starting pitcher James Beever picked up his first win of the season after pitching five innings and allowing one run on eight hits with a walk and two strikeouts.

Fort Worth got to starting Saints pitcher Adam Brandenburg early Friday night, scoring four runs in the first two innings to build a lead they would never surrender. The first two runs came on the Cats' first hit of the game, when SS Marc Mirizzi hit a home run with 3B Terence Green on first thanks to a Brandenburg walk. The Saints came to within one run of the Cats in the bottom of the eighth inning and had the go-ahead run on first base with only one out. But Fort Worth reliever Tim Vasquez struck out Saints 1B Marcel Longmire before forcing LF Brian Sprout to pop out to kill the threat. Vasquez finished off the Saints in the following frame to pick up his fifth save of the season.

Sioux City 14, Sioux Falls 6

Sioux Falls got home runs from three different batters, but it wasn't enough to beat Sioux City. The Explorers hit only one home run, coming off the bat of 1B Julian Benavidez, but registered 16 hits, including five extra-base hits, to score 14 runs and beat Sioux Falls by eight. Explorers RF Pete Pirman accounted for three of the team's hits, including an RBI-triple in the first inning that got the Sioux City scoring started. The Explorers scored 10 runs in the first four frames to take a seven-run lead. Explorers starting pitcher Robert Wooley took advantage of the big lead and picked up his second win of the season. Wooley pitched seven innings and allowed four runs on eight hits with a walk and seven strikeouts. For the Canaries, 2B Casey Gordon hit one of the team's three long balls to highlight a 2-for-4 night.

Shreveport 8, Coastal Bend 7

Coastal Bend took the game's first lead, and led by two runs going into the bottom of the eighth inning, but couldn't hold on against Shreveport. The Sports took their first lead of the game in the frame, scoring three runs on a bases-clearing double by C Tommy Bryant. Bryant was 2-for-4 on the night with a run and an RBI. Sports reliever Brandon Hudson picked up his second win of the season, replacing starter Derek Cunningham with one out in the seventh inning and allowing a run on two hits in 1.2 innings while walking one with one strikeout. For the Aviators, RF Matt Spencer scored twice and batted in a run on a 2-for-4 night.
