The Saints picked up a walk-off home run from 3B Ryan Gripp, his second big fly in is many nights, to defeat Sioux Falls in dramatic fashion. The Canaries trailed 4-0 entering the top of the ninth inning, but scored four runs, three of which came on a DH Wil Quintana three-run homer, his co-league-leading seventh bomb of the season, to tie the game at 4-4. In a strange twist of fate, St. Paul reliever Tony Pierce, who allowed all four Canaries runs, picked up the win after Saints starting pitcher Adam Brandenburg pitched eight shutout innings, allowing three hits and striking out six batters.

Lincoln 6, St. Joe 2

Lincoln got back to its winning ways Friday. A day after losing to St. Paul to end their 14-game winning streak, the Saltdogs defeated St. Joe with three Lincoln batters connecting on home runs. The Saltdogs took an early 3-0 lead after three innings and never looked back. St. Joe came within one run of Lincoln thanks to a two-run home run by RF Curt Miaso in the fifth inning, but that was as close as they would get. For the Saltdogs, Brett Cooley, who hit one of Lincoln's three home runs, went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored. Saltdogs starting pitcher Jarrett Gardner remained undefeated, picking up his fourth win of the season with a six-inning three-hit performance in which he allowed two runs and struck out an impressive eight Blacksnakes batters.

Sioux City 3, Coastal Bend 0

Explorers starting pitcher Rafael Gross didn't allow a run over seven innings to pick up his second win of the season. Gross pitched seven innings, allowed seven hits and struck out four Aviators batters. On the offensive side of the plate, Explorers DH Brandon Jones went 2-for-4 with a run scored. LF Jorge Moreno batted in two of the Explorers three runs to highlight a 1-for-4 night. The Sioux City bullpen took care of business in two innings of work, as relievers Jon Koch and Rory James each pitched a perfect inning, with James striking out two Aviators batters.

Fort Worth 5, El Paso 2

The Cats displayed some late-inning heroics at home to sneak above .500 on the season with a record of 13-12. Trailing 2-1 in the seventh inning, the Cats picked up four runs in the inning thanks in large part to a three-run homer from SS Marc Mirizzi. Fort Worth would add one more run in the inning to take a 5-2 lead, which they would hold onto for the rest of the game. Fort Worth starting pitcher Nicholas Martin earned his first win of the season after pitching seven innings and allowing two runs on five hits. For the Diablos, 1B Walter Olmstead went 2-for-4 on the night with an RBI.

Shreveport 6, Pensacola 1

Shreveport starting pitcher Matt Yeatman earned his fourth win of the season with a complete game in which he allowed one run on six hits while striking out five Pelicans batters. The Sports took an early 3-0 on the strength of a two-run home run from DH Tommy Brant. After Yeatman allowed his only run of the game in the eighth inning, Shreveport more than made up for it in the top of the ninth with a three-run inning of their own. After allowing only one run, Yeatman's ERA dropped to 3.03, good for eighth in the league. Pensacola DH Ricardo Cordova scored the Pelicans only run of the night to highlight a 1-for-4 night.
