In the completion of a suspended game from yesterday, Coastal Bend hung on to edge El Paso by a run, improving to 26-21 in the second half. The Aviators had five different players record multi-hit games, led by 2B Bryon Smith who was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. 3B Wilson Burwell was also 3-for-4 and had two RBIs. El Paso LF Logan Wood had a big night for the Diablos, going 2-for-4, including his fourth home run of the year, with a run scored and three runs batted in.

The Shreveport pitching staff scattered 10 hits over the game and held on to win by three in the last game of the regular season. Sports 2B Neb Brown had a good night at the plate, going 1-for-3 with a run scored and two runs batted in while 1B Al Corbeil led the way with a 2-for-4 effort in which he scored a run and drove in another. DH Trey Stevens had a 3-for-4 night for Pensacola and scored a run and two others recorded multi-hit games. Shreveport won the South Division in the first half and will host Fort Worth on Monday, August 28 at 6:05 CT for the first game of the playoffs.

Sioux Falls 3, St. Paul 1

Sioux Falls got a solid outing from starting pitcher Matt Petrusek, who allowed one unearned run on two hits and struck out four through five innings of work to improve to 2-3 on the season. The Canaries' pitching staff held the Saints to just five hits while their offense recorded 10, allowing Sioux Falls to overcome three errors. Canaries SS Alex Fermin was 2-for-3 and drove in all three Sioux Falls runs to lead the way at the plate and LF Ralph Santana and 1B Tony Cogan each chipped in with a 2-for-4 night.

St. Joe completed a shutout of the South Division's second half winner to end the season on a good note in the completion of a suspended game from yesterday. Shingo Mitsumori did not allow a run on just four hits through 6 1/3 innings of work to improve to 4-5 on the season. RF Wil Quintana led the way at the plate, going 1-for-4, including a home run, with a run scored and three runs batted in. Quintana's 21 home runs were the most in the American Association this season.

The Lincoln Saltdogs finished the regular season by doing what they did 65 times this year, they won. Lincoln got a good outing from starting pitcher Roger Lincoln, who allowed one run on two hits and struck out six in five innings of work to improve to 6-5 this season. 1B Brett Cooley hit his 16th home run of the season and 3B Jay Yaconetti hit his ninth and tenth as Lincoln rolled to a six-run victory. The Saltdogs will host Wild Card winner St. Paul on Monday, August 28 with the first pitch set for 6:35 CT.
