Three El Paso home runs were not enough to top Sioux Falls, as the Canaries rallied from a 6-2 deficit in the eighth inning and eventually came away with an 8-7 win. Sioux Falls RF Cory Harris led the way at the plate for the Canaries. He was 2-for-4 with four RBI. El Paso 1B Juan Camacho, SS Arnoldo Ponce and C Eddy Rodriguez all went deep for the Diablos. Sioux Falls reliever Aaron Cotter picked up his first win after tossing a scoreless eighth inning. Canaries closer Kris Regas came on to finish things off in the ninth, earning his 14th save.

Wichita 2, St. Paul 1

With a 2-1 win against St. Paul, the Wichita Wingnuts earned a three-game sweep of the Saints and clinched the first half North Division title. Wichita starting pitcher William Savage earned the victory, improving his record to 3-3 on the season. He allowed one run on six hits in seven strong innings. Wingnuts 1B Stephen Pearson was 2-for-3 with a RBI to lead the way offensively. Wichita reliever Richard Salazar recorded two outs in the ninth to earn his first save.

Grand Prairie 4, Fort Worth 3

@ Grand Prairie, TX. Time: 2:32 Attendance: 2,267

W: Kieran Mattison (4-3) L: Jae Jung (3-1) S: James Morrison (7) HR: FW-Ryan Patterson (7); GP-Chad Gabriel (3)

After allowing a run in the top of the first inning, Grand Prairie scored twice in the bottom of the inning to take a 2-1 lead and would never trail again en route to a 4-3 win. AirHogs DH Chad Gabriel led the way at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI. Grand Prairie starting pitcher Kieran Mattison picked up the win to improve to 4-3 on the season. Mattison allowed three runs on six hits and walked six in 6 2/3 innings. AirHogs reliever James Morrison tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings to earn his seventh save. Fort Worth RF Ryan Patterson was 1-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI to lead the Cats in the losing effort.

Pensacola 7, Shreveport-Bossier 4

Trailing 3-2 entering the fifth inning, the Pensacola Pelicans rallied for five runs in the frame to take a 7-3 lead and never looked back on the way to the win. Pelicans starting pitcher Dane DeValk allowed three runs and scattered nine hits over 5 2/3 innings to earn the victory and improve to 3-1 on the year. Pensacola reliever Hunter Davis struck out one in a scoreless ninth to earn his ninth save. Pelicans 3B Luis Bautista led the way at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI. The home run was Bautista's second of the season.

Lincoln 11, Sioux City 3

@ Lincoln, NE. Time: 3:01 Attendance: 3,506

With an 11-3 win against Sioux City the Lincoln Saltdogs earned a three-game sweep of the Explorers and completed a perfect 6-0 home stand. The Saltdogs got a solid outing from starting pitcher Jonathan Figueroa and plenty of offense in support of him. Figueroa allowed three runs on four hits and struck out nine in 6 2/3 innings to earn the win and improve to 3-4 in the process. Meanwhile, four different Lincoln hitters drove in two runs, including DH Steve Alexander who was 1-for-5 with a home run, his eighth of the season.
