Grand Prairie used solid pitching from four different hurlers, a home run by SS David Espinosa, and three Shreveport errors to take a 3-2 decision over the Sports. AirHogs starter Kieran Mattison tossed six innings of three-hit ball, striking out three, walking three, and allowing two earned runs. Vinnie DeChristofaro then pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings to earn his second win. Espinosa led the offense with a 1-for-3 night including a leadoff blast to right field in the first inning. CF Deacon Burns hit a two-run homer to left in the sixth inning to briefly tie the game, but Grand Prairie pushed across an unearned run in the bottom of the seventh for the final margin of victory.

Lincoln got a great outing from starter Ryan Trytten and solid production from their number five, six, and seven hitters en route to a 6-3 over Sioux City. Trytten went seven innings and allowed just one run on two hits to improve to 3-2 on the year. DH Mario Delgado, 3B Shea McFeely, and LF Luis Perez each collected two hits and combined to go 6-for-11 with four RBI and four runs scored. 2B Nick McCoola had a good game for the Explorers as he went 2-for-3 with two RBI. R.D. Spiehs got out the final out of the contest to earn his first save.

Wichita 8, El Paso 3

The top of the Wingnuts batting order turned in a big performance as Wichita beat El Paso 8-3. SS Kevin Hooper went 3-for-5 in the leadoff spot with two runs scored and a RBI while LF Blake Gailen and 2B Brenan Herrera combined for three hits two runs scored and four RBI. 2B Jorge Alvarez hit his six homer of the year for El Paso, but it wasn't enough as Wichita starter Richard Salazar came up with a fine performance. He allowed just two earned runs on five hits and improved his record to 1-2 on the year. Leading 2-1 after 4 1/2 innings, the Wingnuts scored two in the bottom of the fifth and four in the sixth to break the game open.

St. Paul 7, Sioux Falls 0

Charlie Ruud became the all-time leader in wins for the St. Paul Saints as he pitched six scoreless innings in a 7-0 victory over Sioux Falls. Ruud notched his 27th win with the franchise as he scattered seven hits, struck out three, and walked one to improve to 7-1 on the season. His counterpart, veteran Pat Mahomes, had an uncharacteristically rocky performance. Entering the game with a perfect mark of 7-0, he struck out eight men but allowed 10 hits and four earned runs in six innings to suffer his first loss of the year. RF Brent Krause had a good night at the plate going 3-for-4 with a run scored and a RBI while 1B Jason Colson drove in three with a 2-for-4 performance. With the win the Saints cut the Canaries division lead to a single game.
