El Paso 11, Amarillo 9 (Completion of suspended game from June 17 - 16 innings)

In day No. 2 of the contest between El Paso and Amarillo, the Diablos scored two in the top of the 16th inning and defeated the Sox, 11-9. The clubs combined for 37 with 17 different pitchers taking the mound. In the end it was Diablos reliever Kyle Cremers getting the win, throwing a scoreless 15h. Of the Diablos' 17 hits, only one went for extra-bases, a two-run double from Mitch Einertson in the second inning. El Paso put five runs on the board in that frame, taking an early 5-0 lead. Einertson went 2-for-7 with a run and two RBI. Sox 1B/RF Tim Alberts went 3-for-6 for the game and hit his 12th home run of the year in the losing effort.

El Paso 10, Amarillo 6 (Regulary scheduled game)

Giving the majority of the bullpen a much-needed day off, El Paso starting pitcher David Casillas struck out eight Sox over six innings of work, allowing two runs and picking up his first win this season. Casillas has 11 strikeouts in as many innings this season. While Casillas was mowing down Sox from the mound, the Diablos in the batter's box were pushing runs across like it was going out of style. El Paso plated three runs in three separate innings, including the opening frame. Leadoff SS Maikol Gonzalez got things started right, taking the first pitch he saw in the opening frame over the outfield wall and giving his club instant momentum. The blast was Gonzalez' only hit of the night and his second homer of the year. Amarillo pushed four runs across in the ninth, but the eight-run deficit they entered the frame with was simply too much to overcome.

Sioux Falls 5, Fargo-Moorhead 3

Just one win shy of tying the American Association record 15-game winning streak, Fargo-Moorhead fell just short, losing to Sioiux Falls, 5-3. The RedHawks trailed, 4-0, entering the sixth inning, where they scored three to pull within one run. But the next three frames saw just one more Fargo-Moorheaed hit, as the Pheasants bullpen secured the victory. The final man on the mound for Sioux Falls, Cody Evans, struck out the side in order to put away the RedHawks. The save was Evans' eighth of 2012. Pheasants 3B Cesar Nicolas hit his 17th double of the season and went 2-for-3 with a run and two RBI. Only RedHawks LF Jon Gaston had more hits, as the Boise, Idaho native went 3-for-4 with a run scored.

Quebec 12, Gary SouthShore 9

The Capitales rallied from an early, 7-1 deficit against Gary SouthShore on Wednesday, scoring eight runs in the sixth inning and winning 12-9. A bases-clearing triple in that frame from DH Patrick DAoust - his only hit of the game - broke the game open. The three-bagger turned a narrow, 8-7 lead into a commanding, four-run advantage. DAoust had four RBI on the night, leading all batters. Two RailCats - RF Mike Massaro and 1B Mike Rohde - homered in the contest, with Massaro tying for the game high in hits with a 3-for-4 night. But the Capitales didn't let Gary SouthShore account for all the long balls. RF Steve Brown hit his first of the year, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Winnipeg 10, Lincoln 4

Already leading, 4-0, in the eighth inning, the Goldeyes pushed across some security runs just to be on the safe side - six of them. It turned out at least one was needed, as Lincoln put four runs up in the bottom of the ninth before falling, 10-4. The final three runs in the six-run eighth came via a three-run home run from Goldeyes DH Kyle Day. Day went 2-for-4 with a run and four RBI. Starting Winnipeg pitcher Todd Privett picked up the win, his third of the season, throwing 6.1 shutout innings with three strikeouts. Privett's ERA dropped below three to 2.95 with the victory. The Saltdogs got a 2-for-3 night from 3B Mike Provencher, who scored the second run in Lincoln's ninth-inning comeback attempt.

Kansas City 12, Sioux City 7

The Explorers scored six runs in the final three innings against Kansas City on Wednesday. But it was too little, too late, as the T-Bones' 10-1 lead entering the seventh proved too massive for Sioux City to overcome. Kansas City won the game 12-7. Three different T-Bones homered, with LF Brandon Jones hitting his seventh shot of the season to highlight his 3-for-4 night. Jones fell just a triple shy of the cycle, notching a two-run double in his club's six-run sixth inning. The Explorers had a couple players in the home run party, as well. RF Peter Barrows and 1B Kris Sanchez each rounded the bases. It wasn't enough, however, to propel Sioux City to a win.
