Amarillo 9, El Paso 3

The Amarillo Sox scored five runs in the fifth inning to break open up a tight game and defeat the El Paso Diablos, 9-3. The Diablos jumped ahead 1-0 in the first inning thanks to a RBI double by RF Nelson Teilon. The Sox would tie it at 1-1 in the second on a solo home run by DH Chuck Lofgren. Amarillo then took control of the game as they tallied single runs in the third and fourth innings followed by the five-run outburst in the fifth. Along with the home run, Lofgren went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI. Sox C Mitch Abeita hit a three-run blast in a 1-for-4 night.

Grand Prairie 3, Laredo 1

Grand Prairie scored three early runs and made it hold up behind a solid pitching effort as the AirHogs beat the Laredo Lemurs, 3-1. Grand Prairie scored one run in the second inning and two more in the third. AirHogs starting pitcher John Brownell won his third game as he tossed seven strong innings allowing one earned run on six hits with a walk and five strikeouts. Grand Prairie reliever Ronnie Morales pitched a scoreless eighth inning and Justin Dowdy came on in the ninth to collect his second save. AirHogs C Craig McMurray and 1B Trent Lockwood each had two hits with Lockwood hitting his third home run of the season.

Kansas City 4, Fargo-Moorhead 3

Kansas City held off a late ninth inning rally by Fargo-Moorhead and defeated the RedHawks, 4-3. Fargo-Moorhead took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a RBI single by C Ryan Delgado. The T-Bones plated three runs in the fourth to take a 3-1 advantage thanks to sacrifice flies from DH Kala Kaaihue and 2B Reid Fronk and a RBI double from 1B/C Trevor Coleman. There would no more scoring until the ninth inning as SS Jose O. Duran singled home 3B Devin Goodwin to give Kansas City a 4-1 lead. The RedHawks came right back to score two runs in the bottom of the frame but came up short as they left the tying run at second base. Coleman collected two hits on the night while Goodwin scored two runs.

Sioux Falls 6, Gary SouthShore 2

The Sioux Falls Pheasants scored one run in the fourth inning and four more in the fifth to take a 5-0 lead and would go on from there to take care of the Gary SouthShore RailCats by the score of 6-2. Pheasants 1B Jared Bolden went 3-for-4 with two RBI while SS Cory Morales drove in three runs in a 1-for-4 night. Sioux Falls starting pitcher Peter Gehle was terrific en route to his first win of the season. Gehle went six innings allowing an earned run on six hits with three strikeouts. LF Adam Klein had three hits in a losing effort for the RailCats.

Sioux City 5, Wichita 1

Jason Jarvis' superb pitching performance and OF Yusuke Inoguchi's fantastic night at the plate help end the 11-game winning streak of the Wichita Wingnuts as the Sioux City Explorers win by a 5-1 score. Jarvis tossed a complete game allowing no earned runs on five hits with a walk and seven strikeouts. This was his first win of the season. Inoguchi went a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate with a double, triple, three runs scored and a run batted in. 3B Wally Backman, C Tyler Goodro and 2B/PH Mike Murphy each had two hits as well for Sioux City.

St. Paul at New Jersey (Postponed - Rain)

The game between St. Paul and New Jersey has been postponed due to rain. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Tuesday, June 5 beginning at 5:05 PM. Both games are scheduled for seven innings.
