The RailCats grabbed the interleague series win from the Champions by scoring five runs in the first three innings. CF JD Pulfer opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first, and 1B Michael Schroeder and DH Jon Jones followed with RBI singles of their own in the second. The early burst was capped with a two-run double by C Michael Vaughn in the third.
LF Adam Taylor and SS Ryan Brockett had two hits apiece for Gary SouthShore. Ottawa scattered eight hits across eight different players, including a double from LF Francisco Sosa.
RHP Travis McGee earned the win for Gary, striking out two over six innings. LHP Andy Loomis worked a scoreless ninth for the save.
