
American Association Announces Post-Season All-Star Team

The American Association has announced its 2012 Post-Season All Star Team, as voted on by the league's 13 field managers and media representatives.
Catcher- Chris McMurray (Grand Prairie/Lincoln)- McMurray spent the beginning of 2012 with the AirHogs before being traded to Lincoln on August 10. Between the two clubs, the catcher accrued the second most home runs in the league (18) and a .304 batting average. For his performance, McMurray was recently bought by the Arizona Diamondbacks organization.
First Base- Brian Myrow (Grand Prairie)- Myrow's .354 average is good for second in the American Association. He has also hit 12 home runs for the AirHogs and knocked in 58 runs.
Second Base- Jake Kahaulelio (Wichita)- Kahaulelio has been the best hitter in the American Association with a .369 average. The Wichita Wingnuts second baseman has five homers and 37 RBI.
Third Base- Cesar Nicolas (Sioux Falls)- Nicolas has hit .335 for Sioux Falls this season. That mark puts him seventh in the league. He is also fourth in the league with 78 RBI.
Shortstop- Zach Penprase (Fargo-Moorhead)- Penprase has been a consistent producer for the RedHawks, hitting .310 with five homers and 43 RBI. Defensively, he has a .956 fielding percentage.
Outfielder- Nic Jackson (Fargo-Moorhead)- Also the American Association Player of the Year, Jackson has the second-most RBI in the league with 84. He has also hammered 17 home runs, putting him three away from the league-lead.
Outfielder- Chris Roberson (Winnipeg)- Roberson has hit .327 with 11 home runs for the playoff-contending Goldeyes. He has the best average on Winnipeg of players with 75 or more at-bats.
Outfielder- Adam Buschini (Amarillo)- Buschini's .354 average seats him third in the American Association. He has also hit 14 home runs, tying him for the team-lead with Tim Alberts.
Designated Hitter- Ryan Delgado (Fargo-Moorhead)- Delgado is among the best hitters on an offensively gifted Fargo-Moorhead team. His 85 RBI are the best in the league and he has the second-most homers with 19.
Pitcher of the Year- Josh Lowey (Wichita)- Lowey has an American Association-best 15 wins and he also has a 3.46 ERA for Wichita. The former Mercer University right-hander pitched a two-hit shutout against El Paso last time out to hold on to a 1-0 win.
Relief Pitcher of the Year- Tom Boleska (Fargo-Moorhead)- Boleska has been a major component to Fargo-Moorhead's league-best record. The reliever has converted 29 saves and holds a 1.80 ERA.
Defensive Player of the Year- Ryan Khoury (Wichita)- Khoury has played 99 games at shortstop and committed a miniscule 13 errors. The Wichita infielder has a .970 fielding percentage.
