
Ambush Play Host and Visitor in this Weekend's Games

St. Louis Ambush News Release
St. Charles, MO - The St. Louis Ambush host the first-place Milwaukee Wave Friday night (February 21) at 7:35 p.m. at the Family Arena in St. Charles. Friday's contest is one of only two remaining home games on the 2013-14 regular season for the Ambush. The two teams have met four times thus far and the Wave have prevailed in all four encounters. The last time the Ambush (4-12) and Wave (14-2) met at the Family Arena, on February 1, the Wave got off to an early lead, then the Ambush bounced back to gain a 10-6 advantage going into halftime. Milwaukee managed to tie the match by the end of the third quarter and eventually took the lead in the final stanza. Another intense and competitive game can be expected when these two square off Friday night.
Following Friday's duel against the Wave, the Ambush journey across the state to tangle with the Missouri Comets (10-6) at the Independence Events Center at 7:35 p.m. Saturday, February 22. Fans wishing to join the team on the road can take advantage of a special bus and ticket package with round trip bus fare from St. Charles and a ticket to the game in Independence for $50. To take advantage of this package, call Brad Cleveland at the Ambush office, 636-922-2255. The reservation deadline is 5:30 p.m. Thursday, February 20.
The Ambush, presented by Simmons First National Bank, play their final home game of the season on Thursday, February 27 at 7:35 p.m. at the Family Arena. That night has been designated Retro Night and will feature a Reunion Game of former Ambush, Storm and Steamers legends at halftime Current Ambush players will wear throwback jerseys from the 1992-94 St. Louis Ambush era when they clash with the Comets. Before the Ambush-Comets game, your St. Louis indoor soccer legends will be signing autographs from 6:30 to 7:15 on the concourse. Organist Jeremy Boyer will perform live throughout the evening. Live organ music was a staple of the Steamers games in the 1980â=80"s. Boyer is a student of the legendary Ernie Hayes and is currently the organist for the St. Louis Blues and has played at Busch Stadium for the Cardinals. Following the February 27 home finale, the Ambush close out their inaugural season on the road when they visit U.S. Cellular Arena in Milwaukee to square off with the Wave Saturday, March 1 at 6:00 p.m.
