91 Rounds Productions is proud to announce the second event of the 2009 District Golden Gloves Championship Series. The "Attack at the Mac", which is sponsored by Keystone Light, will be taking place Friday, February 13th at the Mid-America Center. The doors to this event will open at 6:30pm with the first fight scheduled for 7:35pm. The Mid-America Center is located at One Arena Way in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
The "Attack at the Mac" is the second of three scheduled events in the District Golden Gloves Championship Series. The series kicked off in style with the "Showdown at the MAC" on January 10th with a boisterous crowd of close to 1,400. The finale to this series will be the District Golden Gloves Championship, "Fisticuffs in the Bluffs" on Friday, March 27th.
"The Showdown at Mid-America Center proved to be the biggest amateur boxing event in a decade here in the region," said Event Co-Promoter, Dustin Talacko. "But one event is a small victory in the grand scheme of things. In order for us to return to national prominence in the sport and bring resources back to these gyms, we need consistency."
The "Attack" will consist of an action packed fight card that will include 14 premium bouts. Headlining will be the pride of the United States Army, Autumn Anderson, who returns to the ring after a year off. Autumn was rated 5th in the nation in 2007 when she and Marcia Clark out of the United States Air Force had a memorable battle at the Melee' at InPlay. Autumn hopes to return to national contention on the 13th. Other entertainment will include the 501st Legion Storm Troopers along with appearances by the beautiful Omaha Prime Dancers and the hugely entertaining Rump Roasters.
"The "Attack at the MAC" comes from the same blueprint as the Showdown, but will have its own twist. Friday February 13th will be another giant step in bringing boxing back from the dead," said Talacko."
