Amateur Baseball Schedule at Champion Window Field Announced

Florence, KY - The Florence Freedom are proud to announce Champion Window Field is the site for several local high school and college baseball games this season.

Opening day for the amateur baseball season at Champion Window Field is Saturday, March 17 with Northern Kentucky University (NKU) taking on Southern Indiana starting at noon. This is the second season for the Norse to host all of their home games in Florence.

Thomas More College is also playing a handful of games at Champion Window Field this season. The Saints play the first of four games in Florence Wednesday, March 21 at 3:00pm.

Local high schools are also getting the opportunity to play in Florence this season. Champion Window Field is once again the site for the post-season Ninth Region Tournament in May, and will host over 15 regular season games throughout the spring. "The success of the Ninth Region last season showed what kind of a presence high schools could have out here," mentioned the Freedom's Director of Amateur Baseball, Chris Hook. "Several of the high schools have been really receptive to playing here during the regular season."

The high school action kicks off Friday, March 30 with Lloyd High School taking on Villa Madonna Academy at 5:30pm. Ryle, Boone County, Dixie Heights, Covington Catholic and several other schools will also get to play at Champion Window Field this spring. Admission to all of the amateur baseball games this season is $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for students. Children 4 and under are free.

Florence Freedom is a member of the Frontier League, a 12-team Independent Professional Baseball League established in 1993. The Freedom play a 96 game schedule with 50 home games between late May and early September.
