Amarillo Sweeps Lincoln

Amarillo ThunderHeads News Release


Billy Petrick picked up the win for Amarillo as the ThunderHeads completed the early season sweep over Lincoln. Amarillo trailed until a 5 run 4th provided the runs the ThunderHeads would need hold of the Saltdogs. Drew Heid and Geraldo Valentin provided offensive power adding doubles with Logan Vick tacking on a triple. Juan Martinez also continued to have the hot bat accounting for 3 hits and improving his batting average to .486.

Kyle Bellows closed the game in 3 up 3 down fasion for Amarillo as Bellows tacked on his 2nd save of the season. "I like our team and its early season chemistry," said Amarillo Manager Bobby Brown. GM Stephanie Tucker also commented on the home stand. "It was great to get in front of our fans. Even with it being graduation weekend I thought the ThunderHeads faithful came out if full force and it made a difference."

The ThunderHeads are off Monday before a 2 game set with Joplin beginning Tuesday.
