Amarillo Bulls News Release

AMARILLO, TX - The South Division and NAHL overall standings remained virtually unchanged over the weekend despite the Amarillo Bulls not collecting a point against the Lone Star Brahmas.

The Bulls fell 4-1 and 4-0, but still maintain a healthy five point lead in the South and three point cushion in the overall standings. It was a tough weekend for the Bulls both on and off the ice. The Bulls along with residents of the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex had a hard time getting around due to the freezing rain and sleet caused by Winter Storm Cleon.

The fourth annual Sonic Sunday between the Bulls and the Odessa Jackalopes was postponed to a later date due to the weather and road conditions. The Bulls hope to have a reschedule date announced soon.

It doesn't' get any easier for the Bulls as they return to the road this weekend to face the Topeka RoadRunners at Kansas Expo Center Landon Arena. The games are set for Friday and Saturday at 7:15 pm.

STAT OF THE WEEKEND: The Amarillo Bulls are in the midst of a three game losing streak which is tied for the longest in their franchise history. It's the first time ever that the team has suffered three loses in a row without collecting at least one point in either a shootout or overtime loss.

LONE STAR BRAHMAS 4 - AMARILLO BULLS 1: Two goals less than a minute apart proved to be the difference in the game as the Bulls suffered a loss to the Brahmas. Bulls forward Cody Gylling tied the game 1-1 from Mike Davis on the power play midway through the first period. Lone Star Brahmas took the lead for good with two goals in the final two minutes of the second. All five goals in the contest were netted via the power play.

LONE STAR BRAHMAS 4 - AMARILLO BULLS 0: it was a tough game for the Amarillo Bulls to get any traction surrendering three second-period, even-strength goals after a scoreless first. The Brahmas rounded out the scoring with a power play marker in the third. Goaltender TJ Black won his second straight NAHL decision and posted his first ever shutout stopping all 23 shots he faced.
