Amarillo Bulls Launch 2nd Annual Ultimate Sports Intern

AMARILLO, TX - The Amarillo Bulls, proud members of the North American Hockey League, are set to launch another year of the internship program called "The Ultimate Sports Intern."

Last year's Ultimate Sports Intern program was a huge success. Seven Interns were exposed to sports marketing, corporate sales, group sales, customer relations, game day operations and much more.

"I really learned a lot throughout my internship, and I'm proud to be a member of a winning organization in an environment where I can apply the skills I've learned in school to a real world marketing environment," said last year's Ultimate Sports Intern winner, Tyler Sweeney.

The interns will be selected in early June and compete throughout the summer and next season with the winner to be named at the final regular season game. To add a competitive edge, one intern will be eliminated monthly similar to the popular TV show "The Apprentice." The winning intern will be awarded $5000 cash, and the runner-up will be awarded $2000.

The interns will gain hands-on experience in all areas of the business operations of the Bulls organization. They will be expected to work both as a team and as a self-motivated individual.

"We want to offer those young, ambitious, sports-minded individuals an opportunity to gain valuable experience and better prepare themselves for a career in the sports industry," said Bulls General Manager Chris Laurie. "It was enjoyable to watch Tyler grow as the year progressed and he is certainly better prepared for his future in whatever venture he pursues. He is a very intelligent and versatile young man and we are proud to proclaim Tyler as our first ever Ultimate Sports Intern! I hope the second year brings a multi-talented group like we had this year. It will be a fun, competitive, rewarding experience for all the interns!"
