March 7, 2011 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Amarillo Bulls News Release
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - The Amarillo Bulls look for an ultimate finish to their extended road trip when they take on the Corpus Christi IceRays for the second time tonight (Monday) at 7 pm at American Bank Center. Tonight's game was rescheduled from Saturday due to activities that took place in the arena.
The Bulls have posted two wins on this road swing, including a 5-1 triumph over the IceRays on Sunday afternoon. It was another game where the Bulls got goals from five different skaters and three markers via special teams. Nikifor Szczerba won his league tying 27th win in goal.
A win over the IceRays would give Amarillo a four-point cushion for second place in the NAHL's South Division. The Bulls still have four games in hand on Texas and three on the division leading Topeka RoadRunners.
In recent weeks, the Bulls stock has risen in the shots on goal department and in goals against. The Bulls average just over 34 shots on goal per game which is among the top five, and have given up less than three goals per game which also ranks seventh best in the circuit.
Fans can tune into all of the exciting action beginning with The Bulls Warm Up Show Presented By Wayland Baptist University at 6:45 pm. Denis J. Puska has the exciting play-by-play action at 7 pm. The game is also available on Pay-Per-View courtesy of Fast Hockey and a high speed internet connection is required in order to view the game.
Hockey is back at the Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center this weekend with a tripleheader of games. It starts on Friday when the Bulls host the New Mexico Mustangs at 7 pm. Fans are encouraged to help support wildfire relief night as $1 from every ticket sold will be donated to the American Red Cross. On Saturday, the Bulls begin the first of two games against the first place Topeka RoadRunners also at 7 pm. There will be a pre-game ceremony to honor the players' parents and hotdogs that night are just $1. The Bulls will close out their home stand on Sunday when they host Topeka at 6 pm. The first 200 fans through the doors will receive a limited edition Bulls Red T-Shirt courtesy of UniFirst.
