Palm Beach Cardinals News Release
JUPITER, FL - Making his first start of season for the Cardinals, Oscar Alvarez blanked the Manatees for seven innings and Mark Worrell picked up his 30th save of the season as the Cardinals beat Brevard County 1-0 on Friday night.
Joe Mather drove in the lone run for the Cardinals with a second-inning double to give Alvarez all the support he would need. Alvarez (2-0) did not walk any Manatees' hitters and allowed just four hits.
Cardinals' first-round pick Tyler Greene, playing in his first game at Roger Dean Stadium, finished 2-for-4.
