Alpacas Take over Cellucor Field on Thirsty Thursday

Bryan-College Station, TX (June 11, 2015) - After a successful 3-1 road trip, the Brazos Valley Bombers returned to the friendly confines of Cellucor Field to open up a four-game homestand. Tonight the Bombers faced off against the Acadiana Cane Cutters in front of a wonderful crowd here in the Brazos Valley.

There were a few bright spots here and there for the Bombers. including TCL Player of the Week Geonte Jackson, who went 2-5 with a walk and an RBI double. Second baseman and leadoff hitter Jimmy Norris, the league leader in stolen bases, added to his total with two more this evening.

Tonight was Alpacalypse Takeover Night at the ballpark, thanks to Royal Oaks Alpacas. Live alpacas were in attendance at tonight's game and one of them even threw out the first pitch tonight. In addition to the alpaca extravaganza, tonight was also Thirsty Thursday, presented by Western Beverages, where drinks were one dollar all night long.

Tonight's final score was 5-3, with the Cane Cutters taking the first game of the two-game series. The series concludes tomorrow night with Bush 41 Night at the ballpark. The Bombers will be celebrating President George H.W. Bush's birthday in style, thanks to the George Bush Presidential Library. After the game, the second Friday Night Fireworks Spectacular, presented by TEEX, will take place. First pitch tomorrow night will be at 7:05 pm.
