Montreal Alouettes News Release
Montreal - The Montreal Alouettes will play at TD Place in Ottawa on Saturday, September 30 at 4 p.m. ET (RDS, TSN, 98.5fm, TSN690).
The two teams have faced off twice already this year. The Alouettes won both games, as they took down Ottawa 19-12 in Week 1 and 25-24 win in Week 11 last August when the Alouettes mounted a superb 15-point comeback.
Ottawa has no margin for error, as they are fourth in the East Division with a 4-10-0 record. The team hopes to catch Hamilton who has a four-point lead for third place. The REDBLACKS just delivered a solid performance at home last Friday beating Saskatchewan, 36-28.
The Alouettes (7-7-0) put an end to their four-game losing streak by beating Calgary, 28-11, in a great team win. With a victory on Saturday, Jason Maas' team would clinch a playoff spot. Last week, Shawn Lemon got two sacks against his old team and registered an interception he returned for ten yards. Linebacker Darnell Sankey was very effective with ten defensive tackles. Receiver Jake Harty got four tackles on special teams. Safety Marc-Antoine Dequoy returned an interception for seven yards. William Stanback collected 81 yards on 14 rushing attempts while adding a touchdown on a reception.
Game Notes
Defensive back Kabion Ento is back in the starting lineup. He has two interceptions and 38 defensive tackles in 11 games. Defensive back Dishon McNary, returner James Letcher, receiver Shelder Fervius, and defensive end T.D. Moultry will play their first CFL game.
