Montreal Alouettes News Release
Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, May 29, 2003 - The Alouettes continued training camp on the Fort Saint-Jean Campus today. Here's the daily report.
One for one
The Alouettes have released their 2003 sixth-round draft pick kicker Ed Becker. They invited Vedad Siljkovic, a new kicker and punter from Yugoslavia who played at the University of Maryland.
Short practice
One day before the first pre-season game, the Alouettes held a light practice today as it was the traditional hat day.
Who's house?
Head Coach Don Matthews gave, for the first time of the season, his famous pre-game speech to motivate his players. Their timing was great in their response.
In Ottawa
The Alouettes are leaving tomorrow morning to face the Renegades tomorrow evening at 7:30 p.m. at Frank Clair Stadium.
Pre-season
Head Coach Don Matthews is a winner even in the pre-season. In 2002, the Alouettes won their two exhibition games. The Alouettes have a 9-4-1 preseason record since 1996.
Clip #2
The communications and equipment team defeated the general managers and trainers 10-8 yesterday in the traditional touch football game in front of a large crowd of mostly offensive linemen. A few employees had to show up at practice with less hair this morning...
