A light workout

The players hit the field for about an hour and 10 minutes for a light walkthrough to prepare for tomorrow's pre-season game.

Levy in St-Jean

Marv Levy, who coached the Alouettes from 1973 through 1977 was at the Campus du Fort St-Jean today to address current edition of the Montreal team. Levy spoke of the tools needed to succeed in football, emphasizing that football in the end is a game and that players and coaches have to make sure they're always having fun no matter how hard they work.

A presidential visit

The Alouettes' President and CEO, Larry Smith, also stopped by to take in the speech by his former head coach. Smith was a player on the Alouettes for the duration of Levy's tenure in Montreal.

Alumni dinner

Levy will be the guest of honour tonight at the Alouettes Alumni Association dinner at Molson Breweries as the Alouettes introduce new head coach Marc Trestman to the alumni.

Thursday's absences

The Alouettes announced that the following veterans will get the night off tomorrow for the team's pre-season matchup with the Argonauts: Anthony Calvillo, Ben Cahoon, Bryan Chiu, Chip Cox, Mark Estelle, Kerry Watkins, Dave Stala, Jeff Keeping, Reggie Hunt and Kai Ellis.

Pre-season game Thursday night

Some tickets are still available for Thursday's pre-season game as the Toronto Argonauts at Percival Molson Stadium. Call the Alouettes' ticket office at 514-871-2255.

Friday

The players will have their first day off of the year on Friday before returning to the field Saturday morning. Practice time(s) and location(s) to be determined.
