Montreal, June 24, 2009 - The Montreal Alouettes announced today that the following players have been released:
- Blue Adams, cornerback
- Rodney Hardeway, defensive end
- Frantz Hardy, receiver
- Kevin Marion, receiver
- Robbie Powell, guard
- Chris Rutledge, offensive tackle
- Jay Staggs, linebacker
- Joshua Thompson, defensive tackle
- Jamaine Winborne, linebacker
The following players have retired:
- Nickolas Morin-Soucy, defensive end
- Benoit Boulanger, fullback
- Matt Singer, guard
General Manager Jim Popp and Head Coach Marc Trestman will be available for interviews from 3:30 to 3:55 p.m. on Thursday, June 25 at the team's football operations offices at Olympic Stadium to discuss the team's 2009 roster.
The Alouettes will resume practice this Saturday in preparation for their first regular season game against the Stampeders in Calgary on Wednesday, July 1. The team will play its first regular season home game on Thursday, July 9, against the Edmonton Eskimos.
