Alouettes name Mark Weightman C.O.O.

Montreal, May 25, 2012 - Montreal Alouettes owner, Bob Wetenhall, has announced that Mark Weightman has been appointed the Club's C.O.O. In this position he will be responsible for the overall day-to-day management of the Club's business. He will continue his responsibilities as Vice President, Operations and Events, overseeing game presentations, Club events and community relations.

"Mark has been with the Club since 1996, has been involved in almost every aspect of the Club's business activities, while also successfully overseeing both the Phase I and Phase II expansion projects of Percival Molson Stadium," said team owner Bob Wetenhall. "He also oversaw our hosting of the Grey Cup in 2001 and in 2008 including the festival and event activities. His contributions in these areas have been very meaningful."

In his new role as C.O.O., Weightman will work closely with Laurie Bennett and Matthew Zalkowitz, the company's other senior executives, to manage the Club's overall business, and will report directly to the Chairman and owner. Along with his present activities, he will now take on the additional responsibilities for developing and implementing the organization's long-term planning for its business as it continues to evolve. This will include working closely with the general manager and the head coach in assisting them in the administration of the team's football activities.

Born in Saint-Andre d'Argenteuil, QC he holds an MBA from l'Universite du Quebec a Montreal and a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Marketing from Concordia University.
