Montreal, February 27, 2013 - The Montreal Alouettes announced on Wednesday the signings of import receivers Wallace Wright and DeAundre Muhammad, as well as import running back Jeramy Avery. All three players were signed to two-year deals.

Wright (6'1, 201 lbs.) played four seasons with the New York Jets from 2006 to 2009 and quickly established himself as a special teams ace. The 29-year-old receiver lead the team with 26 special teams tackles in 2008, ranking third on two other occasions. During his time in New York, Wright suited up for 53 games and recorded eight receptions for 108 yards. He also spent time with the Carolina Panthers in 2010 before attending the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' training camp in 2012.

Muhammad (5'10'', 180 lbs.) signed with the Oakland Raiders in July 2012 and caught one pass for eight yards in the team's first preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys. Prior to joining the NFL, the 24-year-old played in 20 games over his three seasons at the University of Indiana. In his senior year in 2011, the Fort Wayne, IN native totaled 26 receptions for 238 yards, including a breakout game on November 19 when he hauled in nine receptions against Michigan State. Muhammad suited up for all 12 games, making six starts and finishing second on the Hoosiers in receptions. He also returned seven punts for 36 yards while recording five tackles on special teams.

Avery (5'9'', 173 lbs.) rushed for 495 yards on 95 carries as well as 11 rushing touchdowns with the Boise State Broncos in 2010, his senior year, while maintaining a 5.2 average per run. He also made 14 receptions for 154 yards, bringing his total to 649 yards from scrimmage including a touchdown. His best performance that season came against Hawaii as the diminutive tailback carried the ball 10 times for 92 yards and scored three touchdowns. He also maintained a team-high average of 31.0 yards on kickoff returns. In his junior year, he rushed for 1,151 yards, which ranks him sixth all-time in school history while finishing 10th in the WAC in all-purpose yards. He ended his four-year college career with 518 carries for 2,932 yards and 29 touchdowns. The 24-year-old also returned 17 kickoffs for 418 yards during the course of his collegiate career, maintaining an average of 24.6 yards per return.
