RENTON, WASH. - Seattle Sounders FC announced today that Osvaldo Alonso was named the team's 2013 Most Valuable Player. The award was voted on by his teammates.

Voted MVP by his teammates for the fourth-consecutive season, Alonso continued to establish himself as one of the league's top midfielders. Alonso was selected as an MLS All-Star for the third-straight year while starting 26 games and logging 2,179 minutes. He became the first player in club history to make 110 starts, 120 appearances and log 10,000 minutes. The team earned 45 of its 52 points with Alonso in the starting lineup, and he added his second-career postseason goal in the first leg of the Western Conference Semifinals.
