OREM, Utah, Dec. 7, 2007 - On assignment from the Utah Jazz, Morris Almond scored 28 points in his Utah Flash debut to help the Flash to a 116-100 victory over the visiting Los Angeles D-Fenders in NBA Development League action Friday night at the McKay Events Center.

Almond had help from his Jazz teammate Kyrylo Fesenko, who scored a season-high 22 points and collected eight rebounds after being reassigned to the Flash on Thursday. Fesenko's previous high was 21 against Los Angeles on Nov. 25. Brian Hamilton notched a double-double for the Flash with 20 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.

"Morris was really excited about being here," Flash coach Brad Jones said. "He really gave us a big spark by hitting some big shots and we are awful happy to have him."

The Flash continues a six-game homestand on Saturday with the second game of a double-header against the Defenders. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. MT.

The D-Fenders jumped out to an early 13 point lead over the Flash in the first quarter due to 59-percent shooting from the field, but the Flash answered with a 13-2 run to cut the lead to two midway through the second quarter.

"I feel like I was forcing shots early on." Almond said. "But as it wore on, I started spotting up and hitting."

The Flash had five players in double-digit scoring, including 12 from Celtics' assignee Gabe Pruitt and 11 from Kevin Kruger.

Los Angeles got 21 points and 10 rebounds from forward Sean Banks, while Coby Karl, who is on assignment from the L.A. Lakers, recorded 17. Robert Whaley and Devin Green both finished in double figures for the Defenders with 16 points each.
