Alley Cats sweep two-game set from Wheels
March 2, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Indiana AlleyCats News Release
Anderson, IN. The ABA Indiana Alley Cats took two games from the Detroit Wheels this past weekend - winning on Saturday 137-119 and on Sunday 148-120 - to remain perfect at home this season with a 16-0 record and give themselves momentum going into the playoffs. The team meets the Toledo Ice tonight and on Sunday to wrap up the season with games at the O.C. Lewis Gymnasium at Anderson University.
This past Saturday's game was at Muncie Fieldhouse, Alley Cats' star Chandler Thompson's hometown (where he played at Ball State University), but it was Shaun Fountain who stole the show with 35 points and nine assists. It was not an easy game against the improving Detroit Wheels who had a 22 point lead in the first period and was ahead 40-22 at the end of the quarter. The Wheels ran out of gas, but showed a competitive spirit in both games. For more information, visit www.indyalleycats.com or www.abalive.com.
